Silvio Germann takes over the Mammertsberg


he Mammertsberg in Freidorf in Thurgau is going into the hands of top chef Silvio Germann. In the gourmet world, both “Das Mammertsberg” under the previous management of August and Luisa Minikus and star chef Silvio Germann have made a name for themselves. The 32-year-old from Lucerne looks forward with great pleasure to the possibility of now being able to do his “own thing”. Until now, the talented Silvio Germann has been in charge of the kitchen at “IGNIV by Andreas Caminda” in fashionable Bad Ragaz. With his culinary art and cooking enthusiasm as well as his concept of “fine dining sharing experience”, Silvio Germann has cooked the IGNIV into the first league of Swiss gourmet restaurants. 18 Gault & Millau points, 2 Michelin stars and enthusiastic gourmets bear witness to this.

Silvio Germann will be the host

The Mammertsberg on Lake Constance is a good address in more ways than one. With a lot of love and a deft hand for the transformation of the traditional hotel, August and Luisa Minikus took it over in 2013. The historic property with garden, panoramic terrace and lake and alpine views impresses with its historic architecture combined with modern elements. Together with Andreas Caminada, who will be jointly responsible, the stylish and luxurious interior of the “Mammertsberg” will undergo a careful, further redesign. Because of its extraordinarily beautiful location, the gourmet restaurant and the unique design, it will then belong to Andreas Caminada’s Boutique Collection. The official reopening of the traditional hotel is planned for autumn 2022.

This is the motto under which the hotel has been run by August and Daniela Minikus for nine years now. It is one of the Relais & Châteaux hotels. The star chef is now putting it into younger hands. They are looking forward to the continuation and redesign by Silvio Germann, who, as a passionate chef and enthusiastic host, wants to add his own signature to the high standard of the hotel. The small but fine country house hotel has 2 suites and 3 double rooms. It is particularly appreciated for its beautiful location and the excellent gourmet cuisine and wine list. Silvio Germann will pick up where he left off and do his best!
